The User Editor is used to modify users which have been previously created. A user is any person who can log into the system. The editor is opened using the User List View (see User List View for details on opening the user editor). The User Editor will be displayed in the editor area of the workbench.
The tab of the top window of the editor contains the login name of the User. Within this window are edit fields which allow the user to be modified. Primarily, the role and password for this user can be changed. The login name can not be modified.
To modify the login name, the user must be deleted from the system and then a new user can be added using the User Wizard.
With the editor open, user information can be modified by clicking in the text fields within the edit area, or by selecting the item from the drop down list. When a modification is made, the title bar tab where the login name is displayed will show an asterisk to denote that changes have been made without saving them.To save changes made to the editor, the save command must be used. The save command is accessible from the File -> Save menu item or the Control + S keys. Once a save has been done, the asterisk will disappear to show the editor is now saved.
