The Volunteer Editor is responsible for modification of a volunteer's information and the hours associated with the volunteer. The editor is opened using the Volunteer List View (see Volunteer List View for details on opening the volunteer editor). The Volunteer Editor will be displayed in the editor area of the workbench.
The editor is laid out with the top windows tab containing the name of the Volunteer. The bottom of the editor contains a set of tabs that group the information in a logical manner. The tabs are organized as follows:
Volunteer Information
The Volunteer Information tab displays the editor area for core volunteer information. This information includes the volunteer's name, social security number, address, contact information and a photo.

Volunteer Details
The Volunteer Details tab contains details specific to the volunteer. This includes items like status, personal information, education, history, interests , and skills.

Hours
The Hours tab allows for the input and modification of volunteering hours. Each row within the list represents a single entry of volunteering hours, and contains the following information:
- The Date the work was performed.
- The Agency the time was donated to.
- Total duration of time (hours/minutes) for the work.
- A description of the work performed.
- The person who approved the hours being submitted.

The upper section of the Hours tab contains an input area to add new hours. To add new hours, fill out the name, date, and duration. A description is optional but may also be added. Clicking the add button will add the new data to the table.
To delete items from the table, single click the item. Then press the delete key. This will remove the information from the table. Upon saving, this information will be removed from the system.
Finally, to modify any of the hour records, double click on the table row. This will cause the information to be displayed in the add area. Make any modifications and press update.
Modifying Volunteer Information
With the editor open, modifying volunteer information is performed by clicking in the text fields within the edit area or selecting the item from a list. When a modification is made, the title bar tab where the volunteer name is displayed will show an asterisk to denote changes have been made without saving them.
To save any changes made to the editor, the save command should be used. The save command is accessible from the File -> Save menu item or the Control + S keys. Once a save has been done, the asterisk will disappear to show the editor is now saved.
