The menu bar within the workspace appears at the top of the workspace display. It provides access to global commands within Vol-Track.
The menu bar is designed to organize common functionality into a high level menu bar item. The items are labeled and every attempt is made to provide command keys and icons to represent the commands within the menus. The icons will always match the command within the toolbar.
This contains items to manage the active editor and the overall application.
Close (Ctrl + W)
This is enabled for any open editor. The Close will close the current active editor.
Close All (Ctrl + Shift + W)
This closes all the open editors. This will only be enabled when at least one editor is open.
Save (Ctrl + S)
This will save the current modifications of the active editor. It will only be enabled when a modification is made to data within the editor.
Save As
This is enabled for editors who allow their content to be saved to an alternate location. For example, the generated reports will enable Save As... to allow a file to be saved as a PDF file.
Save All (Ctrl + Shift + S)
This will be enabled when an editor has been modified. It allows the user to save the content of all open editors that have been modified.
Import
This opens a dialog to select the Input wizard for the desired data format.
Export
This opens a dialog to select the Export wizard to export in the desired format.
This prints the current available information. It will only be enabled when the selected item allows printing (e.g. Reports).
Exit
This closes down the Vol-Track application.
This is the collection of editing based actions. This includes text editing and application modifications.
Undo (Ctrl + Z)
This undoes the last action that was performed. This will only be enabled for actions that can be reversed.
Redo (Ctrl + Y)
This redoes something that was previously undone. This is only enabled when undo has previously been used.
Cut (Ctrl + X)
This will place the current selected text onto the buffer and remove it from the selected text area. This can then be pasted to another area.
Copy (Ctrl + C)
This copies the selected text into the buffer. This information can then be pasted to another area.
Paste (Ctrl + V)
This places the current data on the buffer (as established by Cut or Copy) into the current location of the text editor cursor.
Select All (Ctrl + A)
This selects all the text within the bounds of the current editing area.
Preferences
This opens the preferences dialog to allow modification of the configuration of the application.
This provides access to all volunteer based commands.
Add Volunteer
This opens a wizard to create a new volunteer.
This provides access to all agency based commands.
Add Agency
This opens a wizard to create a new agency.
This is the menu that administrators have access to, to enable the administrative actions within Vol-Track. This is only visible when logged in with administrative privileges. (This is currently always visible. See issue "Roles mean nothing..."
Add User
This opens a wizard to create a new user.
Agency List
This opens or activates the Agency List view.
Report List
This opens or activates the Agency List view.
Signoff List
This opens or activates the Signoff List view.
Volunteer List
This opens or activates the Volunteer List view.
Others…
This opens a dialog to allow different views to be opened for viewing within the workspace.
This provides access to the collection of help resources for the Vol-Track application.

Developers Kingdom Web Site
This opens the browser and loads the Developers Kingdom web site (http://www.developerskingdom.com/).
Developers Kingdom Forum
This opens the browser and loads the Developers Kingdom discussion forum (http://www.developerskingdom.com/forum/).
Register Module
This opens a dialog to allow the registration of external modules.
This is provided to allow add-ons to be registered later.
Software Updates
This is a sub-menu that provides access to allow the configuration to be managed and find and install add-ons.
Find and Install
This opens a wizard to allow users to find new add-ons or search for updates to existing functionality. The Developers Kingdom Update Site should already be bookmarked.
Manage Configuration
This allows for the modification of current capabilities within Vol-Track. It allows the user to disable and enable add-ons and search for updates.
