View : Volunteer List

The Volunteer List is a view that shows a complete list of the volunteers that have been added to the system.

The Volunteer List view is designed to support the ability to manage the volunteers. This includes the ability to locate volunteers so that they can be deleted or modified. Filtering of the volunteer list is also supported.

By default, the Volunteer List will be displayed on the upper left corner of the workbench. To open it, select the menu: Windows -> Volunteer List

Now that the Volunteer List is visible, it may be used to perform actions on the available volunteers.

The Volunteer List view is a sorted list of volunteers showing the last name, then first and middle name. The top bar of the window contains a set of buttons (Edit and Delete) and a menu. A context menu (a menu that appears when right clicking on the Volunteer List area) is also provided.

As mentioned the list view allows Editing and Deleting of volunteers. By default when nothing is selected, the Edit and Delete action (menu, context menu and toolbar buttons) are disabled (grayed out). Select a volunteer by clicking (single click) on the volunteer's name. The actions will now be enabled.

To edit a volunteer use the following steps:

1. Single click on the volunteer to be modified.
2. Perform one of the following:
1. Click the button.
2. Select the view's menu -> Edit Volunteer.
3. Right click and select Edit Volunteer.
4. Press the Enter key.
5. Double click on the volunteer name.
3. The editor should now appear for the selected volunteer. See the Volunteer Editor section for details.

To delete a volunteer use the following steps;

1. Single click on the volunteer to be deleted.
2. Perform one of the following:
1. Click the button.
2. Select the view's menu -> Delete Volunteer.
3. Right click and select Delete Volunteer.
4. Press the Delete key.
3. Select OK in the confirmation dialog.
   

   WARNING: After deletion is complete this volunteer and all associated data (hours) will be removed. There is no way to undo this action.

4. The Volunteer is now deleted.
